Final Clearance Mold Testing in Colorado

Book Today – Same Day Results

Final clearance testing is the last and most critical step in the mold remediation process. It confirms whether remediation efforts successfully removed mold contamination and whether the area is safe for re-occupancy.

A certified mold inspector—independent from the remediation contractor—conducts a thorough inspection and collects post-remediation samples to determine if mold levels have returned to normal.

Why Is Final Clearance Important?

  • Confirms the job was done right
  • Protects occupants, buyers, or tenants from lingering exposure
  • Prevents legal liability and failed re-inspections
  • Satisfies insurance or regulatory documentation
  • Ensures mold won’t return due to incomplete cleanup

Skipping final clearance can lead to costly surprises, health risks, or failed real estate transactions.

What Happens During a Final Clearance?

EnvioCore’s certified inspectors will:

  • Conduct a visual inspection of the remediated area
  • Check for dust, debris, or remaining moisture
  • Collect air samples to verify airborne spore levels
  • If needed, collect tape or swab samples from surfaces
  • Compare indoor sample results to outdoor control samples
  • Document findings and confirm whether the area passes

Samples are submitted to a certified microbiological lab. If mold levels are elevated or visible growth remains, we’ll provide clear guidance on next steps before clearance can be issued.

When Should Final Clearance Testing Be Scheduled?

  • After mold remediation is completed and containment remains in place
  • Before removing plastic sheeting, negative air machines, or HEPA filters
  • Before any reconstruction or painting begins

We recommend scheduling final clearance immediately after remediation so that any additional cleanup can happen before delays or build-back costs increase.

Who Requires Final Clearance?

Final clearance is commonly required by:

  • Tenants or homeowners seeking peace of mind
  • Property managers and landlords
  • Real estate transactions (buyer/seller agreements)
  • Insurance companies handling water or mold claims
  • Local building inspectors or housing authorities

Certified Test Results, Fast

EnvioCore provides:

  • State-licensed, independent inspectors
  • Same-day or next-day scheduling
  • Lab results in as little as 24–48 hours
  • Clear pass/fail reports with spore data and remediation notes

We do not sell mold remediation, so our results are impartial and focused on safety, not upselling.

What If the Area Fails Clearance?

If mold is still present:

  • We identify where and why it failed
  • You share the findings with your remediation contractor
  • They perform additional cleaning or containment
  • We return for a re-inspection and final testing

We’re here to support your process, not slow it down.

Final Clearance Mold Testing FAQs

What is Mold Remediation?

Mold Remediation is the removal of mold from an indoor environment. This can be done through a variety of methods, including HEPA vacuuming, scrubbing, and using a fungicide. Mold abatement is important because it can prevent health problems caused by mold exposure.

Can we take down the containment after the remediation?

You will want to perform the final clearance air sampling prior to taking down the containment. The contractor should always use containment when performing mold remediation. If he hasn’t used containment then typically we fail him on the visual inspection.

Is there Mold in Colorado?

There can be mold in Colorado. The climate and environment of the specific project dictate whether mold is present or not.
